Strawberry Suz’n™ | Strawberry Lazy Susan 🍓✨

This isn't just one of the most special things I make...it is also THE most complicated thing I make. 🍓

Strawberry Suz'n™ is a 16" × 14.5" handmade wooden Lazy Susan made entirely from naturally colorful hardwoods, and she is an absolute TREASURE.

She's an original Handy Dandy Brandy design, made from maple, mahogany, and vibrant red padauk, using the natural colors of the wood to create the entire strawberry design, no paint or stain! 🍓🪵

And behind that cute little strawberry is an absolutely ridiculous amount of woodworking.

ALRIGHT BOYS, BUCKLE UP. 🧡🍓

Every time a Strawberry Suz'n™ order comes through, there's a very specific moment in my brain that goes:

“Alright boys... buckle up. It's go time.”

The “boys,” obviously, are the tiny imaginary soldiers in my head responsible for helping me initiate large tasks.

Because this thing is a PROCESS.

One Strawberry Suz'n™ requires 12 separate glue-ups, and because of the build style, the pieces have to be made as a pair... plus two separate trips to the CNC machine before I can even get her into her final strawberry shape.

There is cutting. There is gluing. There is waiting. There is CNC-ing. There is more gluing. There is more waiting. There is sanding. So much sanding.

But every single time I finish one, I remember exactly why I keep making them.

Because somewhere on the other end of that order is someone who is about to open a box and pull out THIS GIANT WOODEN STRAWBERRY THAT SPINS. 🍓😭✨

And that makes me ridiculously happy.

She is a treasure.

EVERY TABLE NEEDS A SUZ'N™ ✦

I am a firm believer that every table requires a Lazy Susan. I have one on basically every table and counter in my house. My tables feel naked without them!

They add height, dimension, and instantly elevate everything... literally and figuratively. ✨

Use Strawberry Suz'n™ for condiments at the dinner table, oils and spices on your counter, cocktails at the bar, or pile her high with cheese, fruit, dips, desserts, and snacks when people come over. 🍓🧀🍇

And when she's not serving anything?

Leave her out.

This much work did not go into making a giant spinning wooden strawberry for her to live in a cabinet. 😂🍓

A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT PADAUK ❤️🪵

That gorgeous strawberry-red color comes naturally from padauk, a food-safe hardwood prized for its incredible red-orange coloring.

Because that color is naturally occurring in the wood, fresh padauk can sometimes release a little of its red pigment when exposed to moisture. Don't panic if you ever notice a bit of reddish color on a damp towel, your Strawberry Suz'n™ is not bleeding to death. ❤️

Keeping the wood properly conditioned will help repel moisture and minimize color transfer while keeping your Suz'n™ looking her best.

With time and use, padauk's super-bright red color will also naturally deepen and mellow into a richer reddish-brown. That's normal and just part of the way this beautiful wood ages.

Strawberry Suz'n™ is designed and handmade by me, Brandy, and this one takes some WORK. Most items are made to order, so please allow 2–3 weeks for me to create yours.

Because I'm working with real hardwood, the grain and coloring will naturally vary from piece to piece. No two Strawberry Suz'ns™ will ever be exactly alike. 🍓🪵✨

And when yours finally gets packed into her box after all those glue-ups, CNC trips, sanding, oiling, and spinning...

Just know that somewhere in Long Beach, me and the boys are very excited for you to open it. 🧡🍓✨

CARE ✦

Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. DO NOT put your Strawberry Suz'n™ in the dishwasher, leave her soaking in water, or submerge the rotating base and hardware.

When the wood starts looking a little dull, give her a refresh with Walrus Oil Furniture Polish. It conditions and revives the wood while adding a durable, moisture-repelling barrier to help protect the surface and keep those natural colors looking bright and shiny. You can grab some right here in my shop, or purchase it directly from Walrus Oil's website. 🍓🪵✨
