Hey, I'm Brandy!
I got into wood working kind of by accident. I never grew up with anyone doing it around me, I never realized you could make a career out of it. I went to school for design at CSULB. Here I learned graphics design, rendering, hand drawing, model building, and branding.
Out of college I got a job in graphic design and event rendering, but it just didn't light a fire within me. BUT the people I worked with did. Shoutout Shelby Erickson & Tim Donnelly. They encouraged me to follow my true passions.
Tell people they're doing a great job and that you believe in them. They might just take it to heart and do something about it.
I have always been a hands on person. When I have an idea, I want to be able to see it through from start to finish. With the help of my father, I started collecting tools off of craigslist. Learning the new tools and skills as I went along. I fell in love with each new tool! I've been collecting and learning ever since.
Why cutting boards?
The truth is, I'd rather make a lot of small things, for more people, than a single large item. I also love that I can ship my items at an affordable price! I want every household to be able to own my fun and unique items.
I want to bring the FUN to woodworking! Woodworking has been around for thousands of years. A lot of people take it VERY seriously. I am not one of those people. I want woodworking to be accessible to all people, especially women. I try to make videos that explain my process in a non-intimidating way. Never hesitate to reach out to me with questions!
