Do a little dance, make a little snack... 🕺🧀🪩 The Lava Lamp Board is an original Handy Dandy Brandy design that turns one of the grooviest decor icons around into a fully functional wooden cutting and charcuterie board.

Made from solid maple, purpleheart, and mahogany hardwoods, all those funky colors come straight from the natural wood itself. No paint or stain! The purpleheart creates that rich purple "liquid" inside the lamp, while mahogany makes the floating lava blobs. 💜🌋

And here's where my designer brain gets a little nerdy. I specifically look for pieces of mahogany with lots of chatoyance, that shimmery, almost 3D effect where the wood seems to change as the light hits it from different angles. It makes the little lava blobs look even more like they're glowing and moving around inside the lamp. ✨

Basically, I designed the wood to do the lava lamping for me.

Bonus: no waiting hours for the lava to warm up. This guy is ready to party straight out of the box. 🌋🕺

Use him for chopping, serving up snacks, building a charcuterie spread, or leave him out on your counter when you're not using him. This is functional art disguised as a cutting board, and definitely not something that belongs hidden in a cabinet.

DESIGNED BY NATURE (AND ME!) ✦

One of my favorite parts of designing with hardwood is figuring out how to use natural wood color, grain, and movement as part of the actual artwork. Instead of painting a lava lamp onto a piece of wood, I designed this board around three different wood species so the wood itself creates the illustration.

The creamy maple, naturally purple purpleheart, and shimmery mahogany all bring something different to the design. Because every piece of hardwood has its own grain and character, no two Lava Lamp Boards will ever look exactly alike. 🪵✨

That's what makes this one part cutting board, part designer kitchen decor, and part functional art.

GROOVY AND USEFUL ✦

Break him out for cheese, crackers, fruit, appetizers, sandwiches, charcuterie, or whatever else you're serving. The long shape gives you plenty of room to line up snacks while still letting that lava lamp design peek through. 🧀🍇✨

And when you're done? Prop him up and let him live on your countertop! At 20" tall, he's a pretty tall board, so make sure you've got enough clearance wherever you plan to display him.

CARE ✦

Hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water and allow your board to dry completely. DO NOT put it in the dishwasher or leave it soaking in the sink. Water and wood do not mesh!

Store your board on its side so air can circulate around it. Re-oil as needed with Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil and Wood Wax to help repel moisture, condition the hardwood, and keep those natural colors looking their best.
