The Handy Dandy Tee features my “Progress Is Constructive” illustration, a vintage-inspired design all about making, creating, and taking things one step at a time. I worked with Maddie of @littlemissbummer.studio to bring the idea to life, filling it with funky little characters, workshop tools, and details that tell the story of progress along the way. 🔨🌼

It's printed on a white Comfort Colors pocket tee with that soft, lived-in feel they're known for. And because a regular pocket simply wouldn't do, the front pocket has its own special Handy Dandy Brandy logo made to match the vintage vibe of the illustration.

Progress, to me, is taking one tiny step at a time. 🔨

You know when a project feels so daunting that you don't even know where to begin? Just start somewhere. Take one little step. Then another. You don't have to have the whole thing figured out before you start.

Each step creates a little more room for the next one. It's constructive, it's positive, and eventually all those tiny steps turn into something you can look back on and actually see.

That's one of my favorite things about making things, too. Seeing the progress is part of the fun. The messy middle, the figuring-it-out-as-you-go, the mistakes, the little wins. Sharing that journey can be constructive for other people too, because they get to see that the finished product didn't just magically appear. It started somewhere.

When I asked Maddie of @littlemissbummer.studio to create the artwork, I wanted it to have a vintage-inspired feel with little characters and tools you might find around my workshop.

And did you catch the dandelions? 👀🌼

They're shown in different stages of their life cycle, another little reminder that you don't have to be at the final stage to be making progress.

You don't have to have it figured out to start. Start small. Keep going. Progress is constructive. 🫶

BUT WAIT, THERE'S A POCKET ✦

Was the pocket necessary? Probably not.

Did I specifically choose the shirt with a pocket anyway? Of course I did. I'm extra. 😂

And I couldn't just slap the regular logo on there either. The pocket features a special version of the Handy Dandy Brandy logo made to fit the vintage feel of Maddie's illustration, giving you a little something fun on the front and the full artwork on the back.
