How to care for your cutting board:
✦ CLEAN
Wash your cutting board with lukewarm water and mild soap, then allow it to dry completely. Avoid drying it on padded mats or other surfaces that hold moisture against the wood. DO NOT put it in the dishwasher or leave it sitting in the sink overnight. Water and wood do not mesh! Also, avoid leaving food on your board overnight (it could stain) It's always best to clean it soon after use :)
✦ SAND
If your board has deep scratches or is feeling rough, lightly sand the surface until smooth using sandpaper or an orbital sander. Wipe away all sanding dust before moving on.
✦ OIL & WAX
If it looks dried out (my rule of thumb is if you no longer see beads of water forming on the surface) apply a thin layer of Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil following the instructions on the bottle. For extra water resistance and shine, apply Walrus Oil Wood Wax* after the oil has dried. *Wax application instructions at bottom of page
✦ DRY
Once the finish has dried, wipe away any excess residue. Your cutting board is ready to use again! Repeat these steps as needed to help keep your board looking its best. There's really no such thing as overdoing it on cutting board oil, it will soak up what it wants!

How to care for your Suz'n:
To keep it looking its best:
✦ Wash with soap and water when needed, but avoid getting water in the hardware, as it could lead to rusting!
✦ Please DO NOT put in the dishwasher.
✦ Avoid leaving wet or moist items directly on the surface, as standing water or condensation may cause water rings. If placing damp items on it, I recommend using something underneath to protect the wood.
Your Lazy Suz'n is finished with Walrus Oil Furniture Butter, made with natural ingredients including tung oil and pine rosin. This finish provides water resistance, but like any wood surface, it's best to avoid prolonged exposure to standing water.
If you'd like to refresh the finish or add extra shine, I recommend Walrus Oil Furniture Polish. It's super easy to apply and can be used on all your wooden furniture!

Wax Application Steps:
✦ SCOOP
Scoop out a small amount of Walrus Oil Wax using your fingers or a clean cloth. A little goes a long way!
✦ RUB IT IN
Massage the wax thoroughly into the wood, making sure to cover all sides, edges, handles, cracks, and crevices.
✦ LET IT SET
Allow the wax to sit and soak into the wood for about 15 minutes.
✦ BUFF
Using a clean, dry microfiber cloth or shop towel, buff away any excess wax until the surface feels smooth and non-greasy.
